Hi, I’m Leah Thomas — a celebrant, bodyworker, and guide.
For over 25 years, my work has centred around one simple question:
How do we live well, stay present, and meet life’s thresholds with honesty and care?
I support people through times of change and transition, offering calm presence, thoughtful guidance, and grounded support in a busy and often overwhelming world.
A life rooted in the body
My work began - and remains - in the body.
For over two decades, I’ve worked as a bodyworker and movement teacher, supporting people to feel more at ease in their bodies, calmer in their minds, and more present in their lives. I believe the body is one of the most powerful gateways to steadiness, clarity, and connection — especially in modern life.
This embodied understanding underpins everything I do.
Whether I’m guiding a ceremony, holding space in grief, or supporting someone one-to-one, my work is always rooted in presence, pacing, and nervous-system awareness.
Becoming a celebrant
Years later, I trained as a celebrant — a role that has become one of the greatest honours of my life.
To stand alongside people at moments of love, loss, commitment, and remembrance is sacred work. I create ceremonies that are personal, meaningful, and quietly held — shaped around the people at the centre, rather than a fixed script.
My ceremonies are:
calm, grounded, and sincere
story-led and deeply human
poetic without being performative
held with warmth, steadiness, and care
I’ve had the privilege of leading many funerals and memorials, supporting families through grief with gentleness and clarity. This work has profoundly shaped how I understand life — and how I choose to live it.
Live and Leave Lightly
Live and Leave Lightly grew from lived experience.
After moving through a significant period of grief, and accompanying many others through loss, I became acutely aware of something we all share: we are living lives that will one day end.
Rather than something to fear, I believe this awareness can become a guide.
Live and Leave Lightly is about:
living with intention
staying awake to the present moment
simplifying what doesn’t matter
tending to what does
leaving fewer emotional and practical burdens behind
This philosophy runs through all my work — from weddings that honour love consciously, to funerals that reflect a life truthfully, to bodywork and counselling that support people to come home to themselves.
How I Work
I bring together:
embodied presence from years of body-based practice
spiritual sensitivity (without dogma or pressure)
clear, thoughtful language shaped with care
calm leadership at emotionally significant moments
I work with people who value sincerity, depth, and simplicity — people who want to mark life’s moments with meaning rather than spectacle.
A little about me
I live by the sea in Dorset with my long-term partner James.
My life — like my work — is shaped by rhythm, simplicity, and living as lightly as possible on the earth.
If you’re here
If you’ve found your way here, you may be:
planning a wedding that feels true to you
navigating grief or loss
seeking grounding, guidance, or clarity
or sensing a desire to live more consciously
You’re very welcome.
I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
